TouchBistro Training Guide

The​ ​following​ ​is​ ​an​ ​outline​ ​of​ ​the​ ​typical​ ​process​ ​for​ ​which​ ​an​ ​internal “TouchBistro Trainer” ​will follow​ ​when​ ​training​ ​a​ ​new​ ​restaurant​ ​on​ ​our​ ​solution.

Menu Training (1 hour)

  • Focus​ ​on​ ​building​ ​a​ ​strong​ ​understanding​ ​of​ ​the​ ​menu​ ​features​ ​and​ ​how​ ​to​ ​best​ ​create​ ​it
  • Trainer​ ​will​ ​deconstruct​ ​menu​ ​with​ ​the​ ​customer​ ​with​ ​special​ ​focus​ ​paid​ ​to​ ​making​ ​it​ ​user friendly,​ ​and​ ​also​ ​to​ ​ensure​ ​the​ ​customer​ ​will​ ​have​ ​the​ ​best​ ​possible​ ​reports
  • During​ ​this​ ​session​ ​we​ ​will​ ​cover:
    • Tax​ ​Settings
    • Sales​ ​Categories
    • Menu​ ​Categories
    • Menu​ ​Items
    • Item​ ​Modifications
    • Menus
  • We​ ​wrap​ ​up​ ​by​ ​having​ ​the​ ​customer​ ​order​ ​an​ ​item​ ​they​ ​have​ ​entered​ ​so​ ​they​ ​can visualize​ ​the​ ​end​ ​goal​ ​of​ ​work​ ​they​ ​have​ ​just​ ​done

Admin Training (1 hour)

  • Focus​ ​on​ ​the​ ​rest​ ​of​ ​the​ ​back-end​ ​settings​ ​including​ ​how​ ​to​ ​set​ ​up​ ​voids​ ​and​ ​discounts, add​ ​staff,​ ​edit​ ​the​ ​floor​ ​plan,​ ​and​ ​customizing​ ​the​ ​software​ ​to​ ​suite​ ​the​ ​venue’s​ ​needs using​ ​the​ ​settings
  • During​ ​this​ ​session​ ​we​ ​will​ ​cover:
    • Discounts
    • Voids
    • Gratuities
    • Promotional​ ​pricing
    • Takeout​ ​types​ ​and​ ​pay-in/pay-outs
    • Editing​ ​staff​ ​types
    • Adding​ ​staff​ ​members
    • Editing​ ​the​ ​floor​ ​plan​ ​and​ ​sections
    • Customizing​ ​the​ ​bill​ ​and​ ​chit​ ​and​ ​payment​ ​gateway​ ​settings
    • Integration​ ​overview
    • Most​ ​advanced​ ​settings
    • Most​ ​security​ ​settings
  • By​ ​the​ ​end​ ​of​ ​the​ ​session​ ​the​ ​customer​ ​should​ ​have​ ​a​ ​fairly​ ​complete​ ​understanding​ ​of how​ ​to​ ​edit​ ​the​ ​Admin

Front of House Training (1 hour)

  • An​ ​overview​ ​of​ ​what​ ​the​ ​day​ ​to​ ​day​ ​will​ ​look​ ​like​ ​for​ ​both​ ​Staff​ ​and​ ​Managers
  • Focus​ ​on​ ​different​ ​types​ ​of​ ​orders,​ ​taking​ ​cash​ ​and​ ​credit​ ​payments,​ ​gift​ ​card​ ​payments
  • How​ ​to​ ​clock​ ​in​ ​and​ ​out​ ​and​ ​an​ ​overview​ ​of​ ​manager​ ​reporting​ ​(including​ ​how​ ​to​ ​end​ ​the day)
  • During​ ​this​ ​session​ ​we​ ​will​ ​cover:
    • Clocking​ ​in​ ​and​ ​out
    • Full​ ​table​ ​service​ ​(splitting​ ​bills,​ ​coursing​ ​food,​ ​etc)
    • Cash​ ​and​ ​carry​ ​transactions
    • Creating/managing​ ​tabs,​ ​takeout​ ​orders,​ ​delivery​ ​orders,​ ​and​ ​using​ ​accounts
    • Discounting​ ​a​ ​voiding​ ​(and​ ​other​ ​manager​ ​features)
    • Taking​ ​cash,​ ​credit,​ ​and​ ​gift​ ​card​ ​payments
    • Adding​ ​tips
    • Running​ ​reports
    • Editing​ ​staff​ ​shifts
    • Closing​ ​the​ ​credit​ ​card​ ​batch
    • Refunding
    • Ending​ ​the​ ​business​ ​day
    • Best​ ​practices​ ​(backing​ ​up,​ ​updating​ ​etc)
  • For​ ​cloud​ ​reporting,​ ​we​ ​will​ ​typically​ ​try​ ​to​ ​schedule​ ​a​ ​follow​ ​up​ ​for​ ​after​ ​the​ ​customer​ ​has gone​ ​live​ ​so​ ​we​ ​have​ ​some​ ​real​ ​data​ ​to​ ​look​ ​at.
  • By​ ​the​ ​end​ ​of​ ​this​ ​session​ ​the​ ​customer​ ​is​ ​ready​ ​to​ ​go​ ​live​ ​with​ ​TouchBistro​ ​in​ ​their venue
